Symetra Universal Life product update

At Symetra, our goal is to offer competitive products that help fulfill your clients’ financial needs and help you build your business. From time to time, we review our product portfolio to ensure it remains competitive. As a result, effective Dec. 14, 2018, we will discontinue the sale of our older Symetra Universal Life product.
We are confident that our newer universal life product suite—which includes Symetra UL-G, CAUL and Accumulator IUL—may better address your needs and the protection needs of your clients.
Important dates and transition rules
Nov. 9, 2018
- All formal Symetra Universal Life applications must be received in good order (fully completed, signed and dated). Any applications received after this date will not be accepted, regardless of the signed date.
Dec. 6, 2018
- Symetra illustration systems will be updated, and Symetra Universal Life will no longer be available to illustrate.
Dec. 14, 2018
- All Symetra Universal Life policies must be issued/paid or they will be closed. For 1035 exchange cases, the deadline will be extended if the only outstanding requirement is the receipt of 1035 funds.
